THE RETURN OF BEVERLYN(BUSTED 3) PART II

The deafening university' ambulance siren pierced through my ears.

I sat in the rear compartment of the ambulance staring Joy's body as the two nurses gave her a precautionery first aid.
The speed and swinging of the ambulance made her body to shake with intense.
Her face still glowed with passion.

I bit my lower lip and swallowed bitterly.
I wondered why Beverlyn had to do such demonic act to a peaceful and kind woman like Joy.

I glanced at the wrist band on her left hand and memories of first day of the semester trickled down my minds. Moulds of tears formed in my eyes. I wished i were the one who had been stubbed instead.

I remember vividly it was on a Monday when i arrived back to Egerton from home.

Joy was already there earlier that day.
Throughout the journey she textd informing me how the two weeks break was long and boring..
She wanted me madily. I had missed her too.

Her words communicated and expressed her in undying love towards me.
She constantly made me to fall in love from time to time,again and again whenever we chatted.

After 8hours of drive, i arrived in school at around 6pm.
Like aperson who knew i had just arrived she called and with a lovly voice she poised,

"Hey swthrt, you mean you are not yet?"
"Here i am babycake,just about to take a taxi to school." i softly answered smiling all along.
"Wow! U mean...ah..u mean you are around? Ooh my boo, i cant wait to see you swthrt,Marish 49." she happily said as she disconected the call.

All i could do was smile and shook my head.

Joy was a real woman who knew how to love and make a man go nuts.
Withing no time, i was infront of her room.
I knocked softly at door and stabilized myself for i knew she would jump over me. Hehe.

The room was silent and no response came from inside.
I pushed the door open and crept inside.
I was welcomed by the sweet aroma of fried rice and chicken.
My mouth was full of saliva and my taste buds were leaky !
Joy had already known rice was my favourite meal.

I shut the door and quickly sunk into my suitcase, i took out a lovly red tedybear, wrapped it in her pink sleeping dress and hid it in her suitcase below the bed.
I then sat back waiting for her to come as i fed on the sweet aroma! Joy was the best cook definately.

After a short moment, the door opened suddenly and behold there she was!
Her head covered in a black stockings, a towel wrapped around her angelic figured body and fell just above her knees.
Her body was dripping wet with water. She was coming from the shower.

"Ooh,oh, oh, sweet intruder in my room," she joked as her lips drew a crazining smile that created the two lovly dimples on her cheecks.

"Look at you, loved one, when did you become a stripper?" i joked as i moved towards her.

With her left hand holding the towel against her body near the armpit she smiled and said,
" Highly corrosive dont touch,"
in one fold, we bursted into laughter!
Soon, Joy was in my arms, she tightly hugged against my body with her wet body.

The smell of her skin made goose bumps to erect all over my body.

"Bebie? Food or your woman first?" she asked softly.
"Ah, ah, i think.." before i could answer she interrupted me,
"Am going to give you choices and plz choose one, hehe,

I just bursted into laughter as i detached from her.

For sure Joy was a realy fun.

1. For the past few weeks that I have been monitoring the Youth Dollar scam David Bekham, CaralBoxer and some few other individuals have been paid the same constant amount everyday. This is despite the website claiming that payments are made between the 24th and 30th of every month. How comes David Bekham is being paid everyday?
2. I am made to understand that I will be paid via Western Union, cheque or money order. Great! But where will Youth Dollar send these paper payments? I was not asked for my post office or other relevant details that would enable ‘the company’ to process my payments. And there is no place to edit my account to include these details. Right. Lets assume that you will still be paid but only in your imaginary online account. Congratulations on becoming the next internet millionaire and good luck with withdrawing your earnings from YouthDollar.com!
3. How can I contact YouthDollar.com in case I have problems with my account? Surprise! You will never get your hands on the contacts details of Youth Dollar, simply because ‘the company’ does not exist. Hint: Every genuine company provides its web visitors with a contact us page.
4. The bad grammar on the website is a complete turn off. Have you noticed how Earn4Youth, Monthly Youth, PayFunda and YouthDollar can never seem to get the placement of the dollar symbol right? Have you also noticed how poor the grammar on these websites is? This is a common characteristic of all online scams. The next time someone tries to lure you into one of these scams, tell them to invest in a good English Dictionary with the money they would have used to pay you.
5. No advertiser is going to pay $5 or $10 for just visiting their website. Seriously, even Google Adsense, which charges more expensively for advertisements does not pay out this much to bloggers. I will repeat it for the umpteenth time. There is no easy way yo make money online. If you are looking for one, try gambling.

Student charged with rape claims he was re-enacting ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’

A first-year student at the University of Illinois in Chicago has been arrested for sexually assaulting a woman in his hostel room. According to The Independent , the 19-year old said he was re-enacting scenes from Fifty Shades of Grey.

Police say Mohammad Hossain told the woman to strip naked and then allegedly hit her several times after tying her to a bed and covering her mouth. The woman asked him to stop but Hossain continued with the assault.

Hossain claims to have got the idea from the sadomasochism-heavy Fifty Shades of Grey film, which has just been released.

The bio-nuclear engineering student has been banned from the UIC campus and charged with one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault.

WHY DO BAD THINGS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE?

 

I have found myself again asking nobody in particular this question of desperation.
Charity Maina, a third year student at Moi university died, NO, was actually brutally killed yesterday. The poor girl. I have learnt that the late Charity was an orphaned girl who has suffered the double tragedy of losing both parents at delicate age.

Fragile and destitute, her uncle adopted her. She worked her bruised self hard and right to secure herself a chance in university. The future looked bright and she was almost forgetting the tears of childhood and loneliness of orphaned life.

She devoted herself to hard work - and God. She was a CU leader, and if you won't find her in the library she was in the chapel!

The day we lost her she was supposedly Coming from the library. Working tirelessly to redeem her future and that of her dependants.

Unknown niggas rounded her, raped her repeatedly and brutally before struggling her to a painful death. They threw her mutilated body in the dark, mercilessly and gruesome. In the dead of the solemnt night we lost a jewel, a rare rose in the most cruel way. 

We may never Know what happened, but the awful reality is that Charity is dead, killed for a crime she never did. Her promising future has been numbed at the tip. Her dreams will be buried under the very soil she walked on while alive. What sin did she do to deserve this cruelty from this planet Earth.

Why did the killers pick her, an innocent naive orphaned girl who is trying to dust off painful past. An adorable girl busy serving God in her youth while her age mates her busy spoiling themselves with the pleasures of this life. I am heartbroken, downcast and bleeding inward. Why do misfortunes only run towards the weak, the innocent and the fragile. 

Why do bad things happen to good people?? Why did she have to die so cruelly, so unexpectedly , so unfairly. Why on earth and in heaven. What evil did she or her parents commit?

In solemn sincerity , R.I.P angel, your death has reminded me the fragility of life. I am torn and hopeful that one fair day bad things will stop haunting good people.

Is Safaricom Using NIS To Track Down and Arrest ‘Bundles Mwitu’ Sellers..?

Are you still buying those overpriced Safaricom data bundles? If yes, you must be rich.
Cheaper bundles have been available on Facebook for many months now. Some of these cost nearly half the price. The adverts are posted on popular groups such as Soko Kuu and Soko Nyeusi, and they look something like this.

Many have wondered where the sellers get these cheap bundles, but it’s quite simple actually.
They use the old tried and proven business tactic of buying in bulk and selling in small quantities, and exploit Safaricom’s own Sambaza Internet.
For instance Safaricom sells 8GB at Sh3999. The cost per 1GB is therefore Sh500.

From the rates provided in the screenshot above, the sellers offers 1GB at Sh600. That’s a cool Sh100 in profit.  The profit margin is much better if the seller for example bought 25GB at Sh11,499. Instead of Sh100 profit per GB, it will be Sh140.
However, for the past few weeks, there have been some extremely cheap bundles on offer. Prices are so low that many people have branded the sellers conmen.
For instance, 1GB is being offered for about Sh250. After sending cash to the seller, he/she sends you a 15 digit code which you then send to 440 and receive your bundles. They expire after a month.
If you’ve ever bought a mobile phone at a Safaricom Shop, this process may sound familiar. The 15 digit code is in real sense a mobile phone’s IMEI number. When you buy a phone from Safaricom, they give you free bundles; either 500mbs or 1GB depending on how expensive the phone is. You send the phone’s IMEI number to 440 and receive your free bundles.

So, where are these ‘Bundles Mwitu’ sellers getting ‘unused’ IMEI numbers? Well, good question.
Perhaps that’s what fuelled the rumour on Social media yesterday that Safaricom has involved the NIS in tracking down their ‘mole’, in the process arresting some sellers. Nothing has been confirmed yet.
We’ll have to wait and see if the ‘promotional codes’ run out.
On the other ‘bundles mwitu’ business, Safaricom has admitted that it is not illegal, but highly discourages the practise as it exposes people to fraudsters. Here’s a statement.

“Safaricom has not licensed any third party providers to resell our data bundles. While we are aware that there are some providers who claim to offer discounted data bundles to their clients, we have not initiated any partnerships of that kind. We would advise that customers either purchase their data bundles directly from us or verify that their vendor is authorized to sell legitimate Safaricom services prior to investing any money in these services.”

They have further reduced the number of times a single person can sambaza from 50 to 20 times a month.

College students spend half of waking hours on smartphones

 

College students are giving new meaning to the term “phoning it in.” Recent research from Baylor University indicates they are spending close to half their waking hours on their smartphones.

Texting was, by far, the activity students said they spend the most time doing. Although men and women send about the same number of texts, women spend more time reading and writing them. E-mailing from their phones was next, followed by Facebook, browsing the Internet and listening to music.

Baylor researchers surveyed 164 college students on the amount of time they devote to 24 different smartphone activities each day and found that women average more time on social media and on communication in general.

Women dominate Pinterest in particular, and say they use the app 26 minutes a day, compared to men’s one minute. Women also spent three times as long using Instagram, but men spent almost twice as much time playing games.

Other research has shown all this screen time is likely to take a toll on health. A 2013 study from Kent State University showed that students who spent the most time on their cell phones tended to be the least physically active and perform the worst on treadmill exertion tests.

This is in line with older research that predated smartphones and showed people who spent the most time in front of the TV exercised the least.

Five things you need to do in your second year of college

1. Get job experience

Getting job experience is very important. It doesn’t matter where you get the experience. Asking your uncle if you can spend a few hours at his firm may distinguish you from other interviewees two years down the line. The long break that most students get in 2^nd year may be spent better getting valuable work experience instead of hanging out with friends and watching TV series the whole day. The value of gaining experience of working at an organization early in your academic career will add to what you learnt in class.

2. Volunteer

Giving your time in various charities not only ensures that you appreciate what God has blessed you with, but also looks great on your resume. After volunteering a couple of times, it will become something you will love doing. There are various charities that require help, so offer a hand and enrich your life when you are free and you will become a better person because of it, and you never know which doors will open by just being in the right place at the right time.

3. Get a mentor

A mentor is important as you begin to specialize on the career that you may want to follow. Wise guidance is very essential to ensuring that you avoid pitfalls and a career mentor can help you make the right choices. A lecturer, family member or even an industry player could offer you sound advice based on the experience and wisdom which could lead you to great heights.

4. Take advantage of school trips and exchange programmes

Taking road trips with friends organized by the school or even by individuals within the student body is a great way of creating memories of your college experience. These trips, however, can get a little bit out of hand, so be cautious. If you can travel abroad as a result of an exchange programme, your  world outlook will be better off compared to being limited by your environment.

5. Party

Second year is probably the best time to enjoy the social scene before the financial and time constraints of third year creep in. Compared to your first year when you were still fresh and naïve, in second year you are more knowledgeable. You know who is who on campus, who to befriend and who to avoid like the plague. However, although this may be the best time to enjoy the social life on campus, one should not forget their books because this could have dire consequences.

Men who post a lot of selfies have Psycho symptoms – Study

Apparently, it’s okay for women to post lots of selfies but men who do the same show signs of Psychopathy, according to a study published by Elsevier. Men between 18-40 years replied to an online survey that aimed at assessing ‘trait predictors of social networking site and posting selfies’.
The researchers observed that respondents with narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy tendencies (the dark triad) were more likely to post more selfies.

“Narcissism and psychopathy predicted the number of selfies…while self-objectification resulted in editing of photos before posting on social media,” says the report.

There are campuses and there are beautiful campuses. With the mushrooming universities all over the country, aesthetic may just be the defining factor that will make students choose a particular campus over another. Of course the learning environment contributes to the overall performance of students. Try concentrating on a Math derivation on a building next to a busy road and you will agree with me. 5. The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA)
At number five is CUEA in Langata, Nairobi. The expansive campus has maintained the up market Karen feel with large green spaces doted with trees. In spite of the buildings coming up in the campus, CUEA has tried to keep in harmony with the environment. The new library, which also houses the ultra-modern hall that housed the Jubilee Communication Centre during the elections, is arguably the best University library in the region. Everything is automated including borrowing and returning books. Now that’s digital. Most buildings including lecture halls have natural light minimizing on the use of too much energy for light.
