It took the efforts of P Unit singer Frasha to save popular socialite and upcoming singer Vanessa Chettle after she was assaulted in a Nakuru club on Sunday morning.

The girl who is popularly remembered for her controversial stance during her appearance in the then KTN filmed Tujuane reality TV show was beaten up by a gang of boys after she declined to accept their sexual advances.

The gang also attacked a number of artistes and journalists, among them the author of this column.

A few minutes after settling for a drink at the club with her fellow artistes, the said gang approached Vanessa with one demanding to dance with her. Two other guys threatened the showbiz writers who had accompanied the artistes and even poured drinks from their already purchased bottles.

And as Vanessa declined their sexual advances, the three guys suddenly attacked her, giving her blows on the face and chest. As her friends came to her rescue, the drama turned into a full blown war that almost left the Rafikiz Club paralysed.

An unconscious Vanessa lay on the ground as blood oozed from her face. P Unit’s member Frasha rushed to her aid and took her to his car where he offered her first aid before taking her to hospital.

“We have never seen such a thing. I don’t understand why guys can just attack an innocent girl for no reason,” Frasha told MondayBlues yesterday.

“She is still in pain after getting.stiches in hospital and we are just watching over her. Thank God she received timely medical attention,”. he added.

The group of artistes was in Nakuru for a number of concerts that were taking place during a rugby tournament that saw many Nairobi youth travel to the Rift Valley venue to party the weekend out.
