We are all familiar with dramas associted with engineering courses in our universities. And so, according to the 26th August 2014, Standard page 21, The Engineers Board of Kenya published a PUBLIC NOTICE.
Thanks to Kulabusia Kakai, a student at Kenyatta University, whom we pinned this post from.
Among details on the notice, The board published»»
Approved Engineering Courses
1. University of Nairobi (5)
2. Moi University (13)
3. JKUAT (6)
4. Egerton (1).
I was left wondering if the Engineering Board is up to something sinister. The following Universities are teaching not less than Five Engineering courses with known graduates in the market.
Kenyatta University.
Technical University of Kenya
Masinde Muliro University.
Dedan Kimathi University,
Maseno University.
What happens to them? What happens to those Graduates? Did this Engineers Board Consult the Commission on University Education (CUE) that approved the said courses in those Universities or it chose to ruin students future by simply going offensive?
We then spotted this comment…
Melvin Mbogo
my friend, the ERB does not go consulting universities, it's the univs that go consulting it. They must meet all requirements as set by the ERB to train students on certain courses.
Another hurting fact, as a student before taking any course in any univ, do your research on accreditation of that course by relevant bodies. But where do you get such info? from the student placement body; JAB now called "CUE.....". so the issue is with the placement body. All the best.
that's heart breaking
