It amazing when I hear out cry from comrades that SUEU to look at the matter of paying that huge amount at this hard economic time! when we were about to sit for the so called postponed examination ...I used to here and see some txt and posts that kama hawapeani exam card sote mtu asiingie exam rum!!!! ..where did they went when we have a burden to carry?? why do u SUEU sideline ur self as if u never said anything concerning examination??? Anyway, stop cheating pple that you can help them in reducing 5122/to any other little amount! ....This is the forth SUEU am seeing with some pple who call themselves leaders who are only there to be seen with all sorts of pride!!! .....I hate the statement "No exam card no exam "!

Dear SUEU, when we were choosing u as our leaders all we could see were courageous n 'comrades people' bt now all they do is act as the messengers from the admin to us. We have been asked to pay 5122 shillings as damages fee, well this is like opression to the students.Keeping in mind we still got fee balances to clear and rooms to again pay for. We chose able leaders who are to fight for our rights not able messengers!!!!! We still are counting on u.... If u cannot advocate for the reduction of the ammount then pliz buy as more time to and plead with the admin to allow all students to sit for exam and pay the fine later. #comradespower
iam warning you comrades let the RESIDENT students pay the fine of kes.5,122 while other students ie non-residents,disable,international and other campus students ensure 0% balance then we sit for examination.other issues let us discuss later. i warn /11B,/12,/13,/14....until this old analog man retire Egerton will not have fairness. i quote"continue doing meeting even you can do it for 3years but the fact remain 0% balance" .if i may ask,what about -ve% balance are they be refunded before sitting exam? again what is the common point between positive(+)% and negative (-)% ? and when is opportunity cost zero !

I propose that the SUEU leaders should seek an injuction from the High Court of Kenya at Nakuru to stop the University from implementing the NOTICE OF 17 DECEMBER 2014 seeking all the resident undergraduate students to pay a damage fee of Ksh.5122 UNTILL a fair assessment which will involve the student leaders is carried out. This might help instead of these leaders just posting empty words here.
5k is the same amount jkuat paid yet they did a global strike coupled with the fact they have a small ppln to egerton..i think this price is exorbitant. (am speaking for me).what about u
Let's do the maths:
The number of students residing within campus (excluding BH & Thornton) is roughly 7000. Now, multiplying that by 5122 (or let's make it 5000) gives me 35 million. I have done my own valuation of the damages, and it keeps bringing me to something in the neighbourhood of 7 million...give or take a million or 2. Which leads me to a crucial query that was initially posed by a comrade; does the admin actually want to buy an aeroplane??...coz that money we're paying... that's the kind of money that purchases a private jet, with a balance huge enough to construct a runway for it, and fuel it for a year.
