Egerton University Culture Week 2016 set for 7th - 11th March 2016

The Dean of Students office has scheduled the culture week to be held between 7th t0 11th march 2016. The whole students fraternity is invited to register articles based on the culture week theme: "Integrating diverse culture towards national unity and professionalism". The registration is ongoing  at the counseling office.

The auditions will be held Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th March 2016 at the Counselling office at 3pm (near JF Kennedy mess).

The registration also applies to those who wish to model. The dedaline is on Thusday 4th march 2016 at 5pm.

The university VC celebrating last semester mid-semester

The much anticipated semesterial break was published today, Tuesday 16th February 2015, by the Dean of students office. The intermission is scheduled to start from Friday 26th February 2016 to Sunday 28th February 2016. Lectures will resume at 8.00 a.m. on Monday 29th February 2016.

The notice pointed to important information students should take note. I managed to pin out some of it:

Students are free to travel out of the University during the intermission. Those who choose not to travel are allowed to stay but should reigster with the Dean of students office to be scheduled for various extra-corriculum activities during the intermission.

Students who have not cleared fees should do so during this period. Registration portals will be closeld promptly on Friday 4th March 2016.

Teaching staff are encouraged to complete marking of CATs, assignments and practicals during this academic break.

Mau-Egerton University Cross Country

The much awaited Egerton University 2016 "run for Mau" cross country is here. It will be held on 6th February 2016 at Egerton University sports pavilion. This is the place where you will meet renowned Kenyan athletes such as Asbel Kiprop and Mercy Cherono just to mention a few. This event also provides an opportunity for many including corporates to bring their staff for race completion followed by a retreat at Egerton University own five star ARC Hotel.

Mau-Egerton University Cross Country 2015 Chief Guest KCB Director Corporate Division Rebecca Likami and Egerton University Council Chairman Dr. Reardon Olubayo during the event.

The objectives of this year's cross country are:

• Raise funds for rehabilitation of the Mau ecosystem and Njoro river.
• Create environment awareness.

Charges for the race are:

• Ksh. 300 for adults.
• Ksh. 100 for students (Primary and secondary).
• Ksh.10,000 for corporates.

Mid-Semester break and closure of Registration.

This is to inform teaching staff and students that Mid-Semester break for Semester I of 2015/2016 academic year has been scheduled to start from Saturday 17th October to Tuesday 20th October 2015. Lectures will resume at 8.00 a.m. on Wednesday October 2015.

Students are free to travel out of the university during the the intermission. Those who choose not to travel are allowed to stay but should register with the Dean of Students office to be scheduled for various extra-curricular activities during the intermission.
